Most lovers have a song...

Most lovers have a song; they have a poem.
The author remembered; the title forgot.
Words simply said as to them alone,
"i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)"

"I trust you" it sang to their wounded pride
And dreams that others tried to kill.
"I trust me to hold you safe inside,"
It meant with deeper meaning still.

"here is the deepest secret nobody knows"
Delivered the last of the courage they'd need
From the strength that those few words did show
And the hope that these few words did leave:

"the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)"
